Striving for Magic

Purple Turtle Lavender Farm is situated on less than 1 acre.  The farm has approximately 800 lavender plants in the varieties of Provence, intermediate sized lavender cultivated for culinary purposes, Royal Velvet whose flowers simulate its name with a deep rich purple bud popular for crafting and décor, and Grosso Lavender grown for its high essential oil content.  Also located on the property are apricot trees, plum trees, apple trees, peach trees and a small herb garden. The rosemary plants and Arizona cypress trees edging the lavender field and on the property will also be used in the distillation process for essential oils and hydro-sols. We hope to eventually add a greenhouse for plant propagation and a bee hive for honey.

My husband and I have been married for 30 years and counting. We have two wonderful adult children. Our daughter graduated from Northern Arizona University and works for Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA. Our son and his lovely wife are also alumni of NAU. Our daughter-in-law works for social services and our son owns his own media company in Phoenix, AZ. We settled in the Verde Valley 14 years ago from northern California after taking a year sabbatical in our motor coach with our then small children around the United States. We fell in love with the area on our way back to California and decided to set up roots in Arizona. We love hiking and feel there is no place better than Sedona for our favorite recreation. We bought our home 6 years ago, starting our lavender micro farm 3 years ago. Taking cues from our favorite vacation destination of Disneyland we try to create a magical place and just like Walt himself we want to share our special retreat with others.
